This session will cover best practices for companies with a "mature ESOP" by providing them with guidance on ways to avoid various challenges which are faced by many mature ESOP companies. The session will discuss challenges related to maintaining a reasonable benefit level, managing repurchase liability, and addressing the "have and have-not" problem. The session will cover a variety of strategies, including Re-leveraging, Recycling, Redeeming, Reshuffling, Rebalancing, special contribution formulas, and unique diversification provisions.

This session will cover the reasons for and mechanics of account segregation - the conversion of terminated participants' accounts from employer stock to other investments. The presenters will address common concerns relative to segregation such as the effect on repurchase obligation; cessation of terminated participants sharing in stock value increases or dividend allocations; and investment options for segregated funds, including investment by trustee, participant-directed investments within the ESOP, and the transfer of segregated funds to the company's 401(k) plan.
